International Day of Action for Rivers volunteer day: Hands-on habitat, Saltney, 14 March 9:30am

This is a hands-on opportunity for volunteers to learn about habitat restoration and the role riparian vegetation plays in improving the health of the River Dee. To celebrate International Day of Action for Rivers, the session is being hosted by the Flintshire County Council Countryside and Coast rangers. It will involve cutting, coppicing, laying, planting up and weeding. All hand tools and safety equipment will be provided.

This project is funded by the Government’s Green Recovery Challenge Fund. The fund was developed by Defra and its Arm’s-Length Bodies. It is being delivered by The National Lottery Heritage Fund in partnership with Natural England, the Environment Agency and Forestry Commission.
