Peter Powell will replace the retiring Huw Evans as the new Chief Executive of The Welsh Dee Trust. He will take up the role from January 1st 2021 after a hand over period.
Outgoing CEO Huw has been a Trustee of the Trust since 2007, including being a Trustee of Afonydd Cymru (the umbrella group for River Trusts in Wales) since 2008 of which he was the chair for 5 years. This period has seen the delivery of a variety of projects and has expanded the Trusts impact and work bringing huge benefits to the Dee catchment and wildlife.
Peter joined Welsh Dee Trust in 2019 from the Severn Rivers Trust and has been working as the programme manager on our Water Wise Farming and Catchment Based Approach programmes. Peter will continue management of these programmes as well as taking on responsibility for the Trust creating the Trusts first full-time CEO.

This appointment comes at an exciting time for the Trust. Recent funding success reflect a Trust that is a good position to continue caring for the River Dee for the benefit of people and Wildlife.
