River Dee Paddleboarding river clean- 10am 19th July- Bangor on Dee

Join us as we take to the water to tackle single use pollution in the river Dee for another year!

Welsh Dee Trust are organising free regular clean ups along the Dee to help keep the river clear of plastic and other rubbish. Despite the work us, our volunteers and other organisations have been doing on the riverbank, it’s impossible to reach some pollution trapped at the waterline or floating on the water. That’s why we are running some stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) river cleans.

This session is suitable for intermediate paddlers- people who have experience of paddleboarding before as we will be paddling roughly a 9km stretch of the river Dee. Paddleboards, Personal Flotation Devices, and clean-up equipment will be provided. If you have your own paddleboarding equipment you are welcome to bring it, however it will be checked by the instructor to ensure it is safe.

Location details: we will be meeting outside the Royal Oak pub – park on the road (not the pub car park), adjacent to the Bangor on Dee old bridge. High St, Bangor-on-Dee, Wrexham LL13 0BU. This will be where we finish our session, there will be shuttles in staff vehicles to our start point upstream.
