We are asking for your help to show off the amazing wildlife and communities of the River Dee! For our summer photo competition for 2021, we are seeking photos under the theme of “Wildlife and people of the River Dee”. Submitted photos will be used to help us promote the river and our work to care for it. The winner of the competition will receive £50 of John Lewis vouchers.
We welcome all entries, both amateur and professional. The competition closes on Tuesday 31 August and entrants are welcome to submit multiple images.
How to enter
Please email your entry to and include the following information:
- Your name
- Copyright details you would like displayed on the image
- Details of any social media/website accounts you would like included.
- Image title(s)
- Image location(s)
Each image file submitted must be a minimum of 300 dpi and saved at its original size (minimum 3MB). Large image files may be sent as a zip file. All entries must be received by 23:59 on 31 August 2021.

Terms & Conditions
This competition is open to residents of the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Republic of Ireland but excludes anyone employed by the Welsh Dee Trust. The subject of the photograph submitted must be wildlife or people that are linked to the River Dee. All information detailing how to enter this competition forms part of these terms and conditions. It is a condition of entry that all rules are accepted as final and that the competitor agrees to abide by these rules. The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Submission of an entry will be taken to mean acceptance of these terms and conditions:
Entries must be labelled with the entrant’s name, image title, image location, and subject name/detail. Image files must be a minimum of 300 dpi and saved at their original size, as large as permissible (min size 3MB). We regret that we are unable to accept postal entries.
All entries must be received by the advertised closing time and date of 31 August 2021, 23:59.
All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them and must not have been published elsewhere or have won a prize in any other photographic competition. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the permission of the subject and do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws. Entrants must warrant that the photograph they are submitting is their own work and that they own the copyright for it.
Copyright in all images submitted for this competition remains with the respective entrants. However, in consideration of their providing the Competition, each entrant grants a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual licence to the Welsh Dee Trust to feature any or all of the submitted images in any of its publications, its website and/or in any promotional material.
No limit to the number of entries per person. Late, illegible, incomplete, defaced or corrupt entries will not be accepted. No responsibility can be accepted for lost entries and proof of transmission will not be accepted as proof of receipt. Entries must not be sent through agencies or third parties.
The winner and runners-up will be notified within four weeks of the closing date.
The winner’s name may be disclosed in post-competition publicity.
British law applies and the exclusive jurisdiction of the British Courts shall prevail.
